COCOMARINDO is a cozy condominium located in Playas del Coco, Guanacaste. This is one of the most popular vacation places on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The complex is located 5 minutes' walk from the beach (300 meters) and approximately 12 minutes walk from the city center (900 meters) with restaurants, bars, and supermarkets.

 

Liberia's "Daniel Oduber Quirós" International Airport (LIR) is just 30 minutes away by car. You can enter "Cocomarindo Vacations" as a destination in WAZE or GOOGLE MAPS. Alternatively, just hit the following icons below to come to Cocomarindo.

VEHICULAR RESTRICTIONS - We provide booking confirmation vouchers for exemption from vehicle restrictions that are implemented by Costa Rican Government due to COVID-19.

INFORMATION: We offer one- and two-bedroom apartments for vacation rental. The ground and upper floor apartments are located in the central part of the tropical garden with a beautiful swimming pool and jacuzzi. The bedrooms have a Queen size bed. There are two single beds in the second room in the two-bedroom apartment. Each bedroom has a closet. There is also a sofa in the kitchen-living room.

 

All of our apartments are equipped with recently purchased medium-hard mattresses. We provide you with the apartment "as is" and we are not able to fulfill special requirements of clients like hypoallergenic requirements. We do not provide cribs.

 

We have a laundry service for an additional fee.

HOW ARE THE APARTMENTS EQUIPPED? - All of our apartments have been remodeled and are fully equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fans, Wi-Fi, cable TV, refrigerator and also have everything you need to cook, including microwave, toaster, rice cooker, blender, coffee maker, a kitchen with oven, dishes, and cooking utensils. All apartments include a bathroom with a shower, hand soap, cloths/towels, and a safe. We provide each guest (including children) with a set of towels (small towel, large towel, and beach towel). The front door and all windows are equipped with mosquito screens.

 

Wi-Fi Internet connection is available in all our apartments. You may expect the download speed to approximately 20 Mb/s, upload 5 Mb/s. Sometimes the actual parameters could be different. Please consider that we do not have the ability to change this. If you need a cable connection, please indicate this on the reservation form. We use powerful professional routers that allow you to be on the Internet even nearby the pool.

IT IS IMPORTANT: THIS IS NOT A HOTEL OR VILLAS - We offer apartment rentals. Typical hotel services such as breakfast, daily room cleaning, cloth change, and bed linen are not provided. That is why our prices are more attractive than in hotels.

 

Please note that Cocomarindo is a private condominium. Many owners live here permanently. Cocomarindo has the RULES OF STAY. Please see and accept the rules in the reservation form below. For example, the Condominium Association Rules prohibit all PETS (even small ones) and no one can reserve indoor parking. INTERNAL PARKING is limited. First to come, first to park. No one can reserve parking. We do not accept any complaints about it. Another option is to park on the street as in most places in Playas del Coco. There is nothing we can do to make exceptions to the rules.

CHECK-IN time is 3 pm – 9 pm. CHECK OUT time is 8 am – 11 am. If you need other time please indicate on the reservation form.

Are there any RESTRICTIONS due to COVID-19? - Following the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, when you arrive for the first time, the guard asks each guest to show the identity card, write down the identification data of each guest, the car license plate, ask for the mobile phone number, as well as take the temperature of each guest and request the address of each guest's home. There is also the limitation of no more than 15 people in the pool at a time. People who do not live in the condominium are not allowed to enter the territory.

Payment by card and any other requirements related to finances must be notified when making the reservation since there is no such possibility in the condominium upon arrival. We will not be able to provide you with an apartment without payment upon arrival.

Condominium Rules

 

• No Smoking. No pets. No parties.

• Pool hours: 7.00 am. - 22.00 pm. Do not dive in the pool.

• The COVID-19 restriction does not allow more than 15 people in the pool at a time.

• There is no glass or ceramic near the pool, do not eat or drink at the pool.

• People who do not live in the condominium are not allowed to enter the territory.

• Do not dry things or towels on the balcony railing.

• Fireworks of any kind or fire are not strictly prohibited.

• Don't use charcoal grills.

• Do not ride a bicycle or any other means of movement along the roads of the condominium.

• Feeding, touching, or handling wild animals is prohibited.

• Free parking available on the street. Inside parking is available but limited and NOT guaranteed.​

• You are COMPLETELY RESPONSIBLE yourself for any issues associated with you and your property.

TRANSFER from Liberia Airport (LIR): It is generally not a problem to take a taxi at the airport. The price of the taxi from the airport to Cocomarindo is USD 45 - 65 depending on the season. Important! Please note that the fee payment will be in USD cash. You can book a transfer here: https://costour.co/tours/tour/airport-transfers/

 

There are several car rental companies near the airport (LIR). If you plan to rent a car, we recommend reserving it in advance.

 

TRANSFER from San José (SJO): there are several ways to get to Cocomarindo from San José (SJO).

- Take a bus from the airport to Playas del Coco (it usually runs 3 times a day). It takes about 5 hours.

- Take a bus from the airport to Liberia and from Liberia to Playas del Coco (it usually runs every hour). It takes about 6 hours.

- Take a local flight SJO → LIR. It takes about 50 min. The price is USD 100.00

- Rent a car. There are several car rental companies near the airport (SJO). If you plan to rent a car, we recommend reserving it in advance.

 

 

LIBERIA PULMITAN BUS TIMETABLE:

 

Liberia - San José: 3 am, 3:25 am (only Monday), 4 am, 4 am (Playa del Coco), 5 am, 6 am, 7 am, 8 am, 8 am (Playa del Coco), 10 am, 11 am (only Monday), 12 pm, 1 pm (only Friday, Sat, Sun), 2 pm (Playa del Coco), 3 pm (Fri, Sat, Sun), 4 pm, 5 pm (Fri, Sat, Sun), 6 pm, 8 pm.

 

San José - Liberia: 6 am, 7 am (direct), 8 am (Playa del Coco), 9 am, 10 am, 11 am, 12 pm (direct), 1 pm, 2 pm (Playas del Coco), 3 pm 4 pm (Playa del Coco), 5 pm (direct), 6 pm, 8 pm.

 

The trip lasts approximately 4.5 hrs. Direct buses are about 30 minutes shorter. This bus must pass through the Alajuela SJO airport. But always double check with the driver when you get on.

 

Liberia - Playa del Coco: Buses leave every half hour from 6 am till 8 pm. Both ways. The trip takes about 1 hour. This bus does not go through the Liberia airport. Only the buses that leave from the Municipal station pass through the airport.

Please note that due to the pandemic, the bus schedule is not stable. Be sure to check the current situation at the nearest Pulmitan bus station in Liberia.

 

 

MONEY: It is legal to use US dollars in Costa Rica. We recommend that you bring a sufficient amount of cash in '' small '' or low denomination bills. The exchange fee at the airport is not reasonable. You will find several banks on the central street of Playas del Coco. Most places accept credit cards. However, the bill in restaurants could be a bit higher for cards. By law these include tips; however, some people tend to leave an extra amount as an aid and incentive to the local tourism sector.

 

 

WHAT ARE THE ELECTRICAL OUTLETS IN COSTA RICA? - Costa Rica uses 110 volts, 60 Hz of electricity, the same as the US and Canada. The plugs are the 2-prong flat type, so North American travelers won't need a converter or adapter. All of our apartments have special outlets for your convenience. In addition to the North American standard, our outlets are also compliant with the European standard, i.e. round 2-prong (except Great Britain which operates with its plugs, which are 3-prong). Most low-power devices like phones and laptops will charge from those sockets. Double check that the power adapters are 110 volts.

 

 

WHEN YOU ARRIVE: The closest grocery store is just to the right of the Cocomarindo door. It's called Coco Market. The closest restaurant is just across the street (right corner of the blue building). It is an Italian restaurant called La Caveja.
